50% off at the Jump Club

Posted by Wendy on Thursday Jul 7, 2011 Under Events

For the next 8 hours you have the opportunity to purchase a 4 pack of admissions for half off for the Jump Club.  They can be used over multiple trips, so like I only have 2 kids so I’ll take the kids twice.  To get your discount admission check out RochesterPerks

Jump Club has a number of inflatables, along with a great area for younger kids to play with toys.  They also have THE best lounge area for parents out of all the kid places in Rochester, nice cushy couches and tables and chairs.  My girls really enjoy going there for a few hours.  My tip for your kids is to wear pants cause kids can get “rug burn” if they aren’t careful on the slides.  Never been to Jump Club?   Then here is some important info:

  • Admission is $8.50 for unlimited play.
  • Toddlers (2 years old and under) $5.95 with paid sibling.
  • No charge for any child not walking and unable to play in Toddler area.
  • Parents can always enter free and relax in our exclusive “grown-up friendly” lounge.
  • “Don’t forget your socks! They’re required for all who enter facility (Adults and Kids) to help maintain the utmost cleanliness for your children.

$12 for a $25 at Glaze and Glass-paint your own pottery

Posted by Wendy on Saturday Jan 29, 2011 Under Parenting

Today’s Less.com deal is a pretty good one.  I actually got the same deal a few months ago and took my two girls to Glaze and Glass myself just before Christmas.  The deal is pay $12 for a $25 certificate which you can then use towards your total at the store.  There are no hidden sitting fees or supply fees.  We went and each of the girls picked an item, Katrina painted a heart shaped votive holder and Mikayla picked a ceramic chicken?  Anyways I had the certificate towards $25 and I ended up paying an extra $10 towards the total cost of our 2 pieces, just to give you an idea what it’ll actually cost you.  I’m considering buying one of these certificates and only taking one child at a time as a special date with mom or dad so I don’t end up paying for extra costs.  But when we went the girls had a blast!  I was surprised how much they enjoyed it.  The store is set up nicely for groups of people to come in and has a corner set aside for kids.  There is a good selection of items to choose from and tons of beautiful paint colors to choose from.  Katrina wanted every shade of purple they had.  After the kids pick their pieces and paints we sit down to clean off our items and paint.  I think we were in the store for about an hr total.  Of course the kids wanted to keep painting but I can’t afford to just keep buying pieces so I told them we had to wait for another coupon.  Once you are finished painting they take care of the rest for you, glazing it and firing it for you.  Your items are generally available for pick up in less than a week.

Glaze and Glass also offers classes in glass-based art  as well as parties, classes for homeschoolers, corporate events, scouting activities, holiday camp classes and even a weekly children’s story hour.

This Less Daily Deal is $25 gift certificate for just $12—which means you don’t have to starve to be an artist.

Posted by Wendy on Thursday Sep 16, 2010 Under Parenting

I don’t know if you’ve heard of Groupon.com but it offers some fantastic deals. It’s free to join and they offer loads of different coupons, usually a new one every 1-2 days. You have to buy the coupon during the 24-72 hrs that the coupon is offered and then you usually have a few months to use the coupon. So like last month we bought half price coupons to Long Acre Farms for their corn maze and back 40 activities. Today til midnight they are offering 50% admission to Stokoe Farms pumpkin patch in Scottsville. I just love Stokoe Farms. They have all sorts of activities, including petting zoo animals, hay rides, zip line, huge slides, and corn maze. Check out groupon.
