Here’s a great list of Christmas house lights!

This list just keeps growing so I just had to pass the info on to you. It comes from one of my favorite websites for finding things to do with the kids in and around Rochester. They have a growing list of houses that have been all decked out for Christmas. Some of them are just crazy amounts of lights, and some of them are lights that have been synced to music that you can tune into on your radio. I’ve personally taken the girls to the house on Academy Dr in Henrietta, and the one on White Oak Bend in Chili to see their synced lights and the girls have totally LOVED them! I look forward to checking out more of them over the next week as time allows. So take some time and enjoy the lights with your kiddos!

Check out these Christmas lights

I recently was given a tip on a house to drive by and see their Christmas lights. Well with a 6 and 7 yr old we are always looking for Christmas lights this time of year, so much awe and joy from everyone’s Christmas lights. So off we went after a long day to follow up on the tip, and it was worth it.

Funny when I first drove up I was a little disappointed because their website said it had 16,000 lights, which sounds like quite a lot, but when driving up it didn’t seem like that much. BUT once you park, yep you have to park to get the full effect. You tune your radio to 91.1FM and realize the lights are actually programmed to go on and off to the music. I tried to take video of it and we showed my husband and Katrina said it’s actually much more impressive in real life. We actually sat there and watched it for 20 minutes before my girls tired of it, it’s programmed to do show that lasts 38 minutes. It runs from 5-10pm every night through January 1.

It’s not far from our house so I bet we’ll be stopping by pretty often over the next few weeks, the girls already got one Grandma to drive them back by there today. The house is located at 15 Academy Dr, which is off Bailey Rd between West Henrietta Rd and East River Rd, not far from MarketPlace Mall. You can check out his website for directions.

Free Eastman School performance

The Eastman School of Music students will be performing at 6pm on Friday, December 9 at the Strong Museum of Play. It is free with general admission fees.

From November 9, 2011 through December 14, 2011 at the George Eastman House on East Ave.

This popular holiday tradition returns for its 16th season. This presentation of more than 100 cleverly designed and decorated gingerbread creations will be the largest yet, on view in a dedicated gallery as well as throughout the historic house. The display features clever confections from professional bakers, families, and community groups. In addition, the National Historic Landmark house is elaborately decorated for the holidays.

This a fun family tradition, they even have a scavenger hunt that you can do searching through all the houses.
